Editorial Illustration

I created this editorial illustration for ARTS 332: Vector Illustration, during the fall 2023 semester. This assignment included choosing an article from a provided list of various topics, using Illustrator to design an illustration, and utilizing InDesign to format the article. I chose NPR's September 4, 2023, article titled "Want to feel something when you view art? Try these 6 tips." I found that the article was directed toward a younger audience (possibly in their late teens to early thirties), so I decided to create an illustration that was fun, eye-catching, and colorful.
I created twenty sketches of various ideas for my illustration.
I chose bright colors that would speak to my younger audience and reflect the artistic focus of the article itself.
I created this illustration in Illustrator before using InDesign to place the text.
This is an example of how my article would look in a physical, print form.
